A Bare Bones Guide To Quick And Dirty HTML Formatting
I drew this guide together based on my experience with hand-coding in Unix, since most of the documents were thereby being developed using vi or pico on the home spaces of the employees from within BSD and FTP'd directly and internally to the department's web server.
Forwarding folders via Pine
This guide was developed after watching my co-workers copying and pasting documents, and even whole folders of documents, into Pico windows a screen at a time because they hadn't yet been shown how to export the folders as text.
Powerbook & iBook Troubleshooting Flowchart
This guide was developed after hearing about the struggles of a number of co-workers with redundant issues, usually after taking their machines home in the middle of a weekend with no help in sight until Monday morning.

Introduction To Your Glue Account
Given that most people have PCs or Macs at home but only first encounter Unix at school or at work, the networked computing environment can be a daunting place to navigate for the first time. This guide was set up to give incoming first-year graduates and undergraduates (and, for that matter, faculty and staff) an introduction to the basic features of their Glue account at the University.
Geog-Help Monitoring Procedure
An internal document for the Department's Open Lab, drawn up by me to be distributed to the staff each semester. Geog-helps are the Department's internal help ticket system, and the task of monitoring the queue and assigning tickets to the right person falls to the graduate students on duty in the Lab during business hours.

How To Register For A New Geography Glue Account
The steps involved in registering for a new Glue account used to be done by getting a lab assistant to stand over a new student's shoulder and walk him or her through the steps involved.
Approving & Activating New Accounts
Since the Geography Department registers users under the Glue system used by another department, some tweaking is necessary before an account is ready to be activated. This document guides the person approving the accounts through this process.
How To Update Print Credit
Before the automated pay-for-print system currently in place in the Open Lab was developed, we had to add print credit manually, a dollar at a time. I was never so happy to retire a process.
